Caring For Your Rug

The majority of our products are vintage or antique, and therefore show imperfections and some singns of love and wear. These are part of their patina and add to their character, we personally love them! They are what we choose each rug for, they are the rugs story, it’s history and we hope you love and embrace them as we do!

Each piece is thoroughly inspected for quality and prices will always reflect a rugs condition.

Our favourite antique rug hunter once told us that ‘rugs have feelings’, and that couldn’t be more true. Rugs hold great energy, and aura's of their own, they can bring such positivity and vibrance to a home.

In tribal communities it would be 'practically an offence' (our fave rug man's words) to put a rug down forever and never move it. They would have a pile of rugs and circulate them, swapping in rugs that had been passed down generations and even layering them up. Meaning that their heirlooms would last forever, never becoming overused or worn out. And now we have an understanding as to why people often say ‘you can never have enough rugs’.

Organic natural fibres need to breathe and benefit from airing out in the sunshine, as well as beating out any dust or dirt build up.

Mop up any minor spills immediately with a natural, un-dyed cloth.

Make sure not to use any harsh chemical cleaners on your rugs in order to protect the natural dyes and fibres used.

For any larger or more damaging stains, we advise that you seek a professional carpet cleaner, who will have gentle cleaning options available.
