Our Story

Nathalie and Daisy first bonded over a sheepskin gilet at the school gates. Quickly realising that they had very similar tastes in almost everything, their friendship naturally blossomed. They joked about being practically the same person, having both grown up in the same area, both attended local schools, both studied fashion design at university, and both, eventually, running small creative businesses.

They seemed to have lived almost parallel lives, but had never met!

Nathalie had set up her children’s knitwear label ‘Theodore Children’, which also sold vintage homeware pieces. And Daisy was running her online vintage & antiques homeware business ‘Scout Goods’.

They mused about how they could work on a project together so many times, and finally set their sights on vintage homeware after both renovating homes, and enjoying the process of hunting for treasures to fill them with. They decided to start with a collection of rugs, as they are the integral building block of each room, but good ones are so hard to find.

With weekly trips to antiques markets, scouting for woven gems. And after having made some great contacts working across Europe sourcing beautiful and rare specimens, the time came to launch ‘Studio Ronde’.

Studio Ronde's Name -

After visiting Daisy’s newly renovated home, Nathalie commented that Daisy’s finishing touches were all rounded, white and chunky. In fact the exact statement was ‘blobby blobby, globey globe’ which they laughed about continuously afterwards. This was where the name Studio Ronde originated, ‘ronde’ meaning ‘round’ in french.

Their mission is to find truly special pieces that can transform customers' homes with beautiful, textures, patterns, colors, and stories - from the rug up.

A rug can be the pinnacle of a room, and it’s so important to get them right. There is something so special about a vintage piece that has been crafted by real hands, enjoyed in lifetimes past, and that tells unique stories of its own when it enters our homes.

Many of Studio Ronde’s rugs are vintage, making them the best option in a sustainable, conscious home.
